--- OUR STORY

It started with a simple question: “Do you do the fire alarm as well?”

Ocean City Fire Safety grew out of Ocean City Electrical, the Plymouth electrical company based on St Peters Road. For years, customers having electrical work done would ask whether we could service their fire alarm or extinguishers at the same time.

The honest answer was that fire protection deserves its own dedicated engineers, its own equipment and its own diary — so we built exactly that. Same office, same phone line, same standards; a separate team that does nothing but fire safety, all day, every day.

Today we look after fire alarms and extinguishers for offices, shops, HMOs, schools, workshops and warehouses across Plymouth and the wider South West.

Two services, one standard of work

We keep our offer deliberately narrow so our engineers stay sharp on it. Everything is carried out in line with the relevant British Standards, and certified on completion.

Fire Alarm Servicing

Six-monthly servicing and fault callouts for commercial fire alarm systems — panels, detectors, call points and sounders — in line with BS 5839-1. Find out more →

The way we do things

Safety is the whole point

Fire equipment exists for the worst day of your life. We never rush a visit, never skip a test, and never sign off work we wouldn’t want in our own building.

Straight answers

If something needs replacing we’ll tell you why, in plain English, and quote for it separately. If it doesn’t, we’ll tell you that too.

Respect for your premises

We work tidily around your staff and customers, keep disruption to a minimum and leave things exactly as we found them.

In it for the long term

Most of our work is repeat custom. We keep your records, remind you when services are due, and answer the phone when it matters.
